DCSMAT Admission Procedures

The eligibility for joining the college is a Bachelors degree from a recognized University, with not less than 50% marks for Arts and Commerce (including BBA) and 55% marks for all other streams and a high MAT score. University norms apply for those who hail from the reserved categories. While computing the percentage of marks all the semesters are considered including the marks for the languages.Those candidates, who are appearing for the qualifying examination, shall be granted provisional admission, subject to the passing of the qualifying examination as above and submission of the degree mark sheet by 31st July 2013 or as prescribed by the Mahatma Gandhi University, whichever is earlier. All admissions will be provisional subject to fulfillment of admission stipulations of the institution and the final approval from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

DCSMAT Selection Procedure
Admissions to all DCSMAT institutions is merit based only, we have no Management Quota. All students will have to prove their competencies in CMAT/ MAT, group discussion and personal interview. Group discussions and personal interviews will be conducted at suitable venues at Kottayam, Trivandrum, Thrissur and other locations outside Kerala.

The application forms can be obtained from the various branches of DC Books/ Current Books and at the admission office for Rs.800/- in cash or through DD of Rs. 800/- by post, drawn in favour of DC Kizhakemuri Foundation, payable at Kottayam.

Admissions for the 2014-16 batch of SCMS Cochin now open

SCMS Cochin School of Business has announced its admissions open for the class of 2014 – 16. Thus, the doors of the prestigious school will be thrown open once again to management aspirants from all over the country. The school offers five full time PGDM programmes that have been specially designed to meet the individual needs and aspirations of students. Now hopeful candidates get a chance to take the first step on the ladder of success by applying for one of the programmes best suited to their needs.

SCMS is leaving no stone unturned to make the admission process simple and convenient for aspirants. Prof. Filomina George, Chairperson Admissions, throws light on the new developments this year as she says, “Students can apply online or download the form and send it off by regular mail or courier. Forms can also be collected from the reception counter at the campus. There are multiple centres for GDPI selection – the Cochin campus and Kolkata – for the benefit of aspirants as well.” Besides the traditional DD payments, the school will also accept payments via Debit and Credit cards, and remittance through RTGS this year.

Over the years SCMS Cochin has been introducing well rounded academic practises that seem to be a hit with the students at the school. They go a long way in shaping good managers of tomorrow and offering students opportunities that help them learn from the best. For example, earlier this year the school signed an MoU with Decathlon SAS, a France based sports manufacturing company. They need special handholding so that they can be mentored through the programme.”

The school is also keen on teaching students a lot more than management concepts that they can use in their professional careers. The admission modalities for admission to MBA/PGPM and PhD programs are given below


Candidates who wish to take admission to MBA/PGPM/PhD programs have to appear for IBSAT

IBSAT is an online aptitude test conducted by the ICFAI Foundation For Higher Education University (a deemed University as per UGC act 1956), for students seeking admission to the MBA/ PhD programs of IBS Hyderabad.

IBSAT is based on CBT (Computer Based Test) format and consists of multiple choice questions. IBSAT is for 2 hours duration and is aimed to test the applicant’s ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.


Candidates with GMAT® or CAT scores are exempted from IBSAT 2013. GMAT scores (from 2010 onwards) and CAT 2013 scores are accepted in place of IBSAT 2013.

The ICFAI University, Dehradun, The ICFAI University, Jaipur and IBS Campuses at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune accept IBSAT 2013/ GMAT (2010 onwards)/ CAT 2013 scores for admission to the following programs:

MBA program offered by IBS Dehradun and IBS Jaipur.

PGPM (Post Graduate program in Management) program offered at IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Bangalore,

Selection Process

Candidates who have qualified based on IBSAT 2013/ GMAT®/ CAT score are called for the selection process at IBS Hyderabad in February 2014. The selection process comprises of Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
